Our Work Together
Imagine what we could accomplish
You may be seeking therapy for many different reasons. Such as depression, anxiety, stress, relationship problems, grief, self-esteem, and difficult life changes. Or maybe you want to become more self-aware, confident, balanced, and engaged in life.
Whatever your goals are, I am here to guide you in approaching and accomplishing them in the most beneficial and healthy way possible.
When we begin our work together, I may ask you to fill out several self-report forms that assess a wide range of symptoms and problems. The purpose of this evaluation is to gather as much information on you as possible so that together we can quickly learn what types of problems we will address in our work.
Together, you and I will work to develop a plan for therapy. We decide the length of treatment, how often we will meet, and what work you may want to do outside of therapy. As therapy progresses, we will collaboratively modify your goals and track progress.
Your Role as a Client
Therapy requires your active participation. Research shows that clients who actively participate in "homework" outside of the therapy room get better faster and stay better longer. Self-help "homework" is intended to give you an opportunity between sessions to practice what you learn in therapy.
